Once again, the Stoma Academy organized a practice-oriented course under the direction of Dr. Jochen Tunkel on the topic of “Bone augmentation measures - possibilities, methods and materials”. The course in Bad Oeynhausen was aimed at dentists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons and offered comprehensive further training in the field of bone augmentation.

The course began with a thorough introduction to the theoretical principles of bone augmentation and current methods. Dr. Tunkel then demonstrated during a live operation how jaw bone is built up using the shell technique. After the live surgery, the participants were able to deepen their knowledge in numerous practical exercises under the direct guidance of Dr. Tunkel.

The participants particularly praised the practical nature of the course. “The opportunity to practice directly on the model and on the pig's jaw after the live surgery made the course particularly valuable,” said the participants.
