The aim of the workshop was to enable the participants to subsequently apply the techniques they had learned in their practice. Dr. Berthold showed many clinical images and videos during his lectures in order to transparently present the augmentation techniques. Since he also involved the participants with questions during the theoretical part, this part was anything but boring and there was a good exchange. For the planned surgery on the patient, Dr. Berthold changed the location to his practice across the street, and the participants were able to experience the augmentation using the established shell technique via live transmission. The operation was commented by Dr. Manfred Hoffmann, Dr. Berthold's predecessor in the renowned Munich practice.

During the subsequent hands-on exercises, the participants were allowed to practice the shell and carrot technique themselves on dry jaws, which were certainly the more pleasant alternative to the pig jaw in the afternoon heat. The lecturer supported the participants in detail and also gave direct tips on handling. The stoma® instruments and the stoma® micro-screws were provided as usual. Also partner Camlog supported the workshop with materials.

Dr. Michael Berthold is a specialist dentist for oral surgery and Master of Science in Implantology and Dental Surgery. He is also a research associate at the University Hospital in Munich and a much sought-after specialist as a speaker at national and international congresses.
